MHD modifier
MHD modifier
The equipment is intended for use in rotary casting machines for electromagnetic stirring and the alloy modification in the crystallization zone.
Specialized equipment for modifying (improving) the aluminum ingots crystalline structure during continuous casting on rotary machines as part of CCR (Continuous Casting & Rolling) units. The modifier use allows the rod wire production improve and stable mechanical properties by refining and aligning the original billet grain structure.
- Improved product quality: ensures stable production of fine-grained and uniform ingot structure, which directly improves the the final aluminum rod (wire) mechanical properties.
- Technological efficiency: designed specifically for integration into existing rotary casting machines without major redesign (installed on the the casting wheel end face).
- Scientifically based design: parameters and operating modes are determined as a result of a comprehensive study combining mathematical and physical modeling.
- Energy efficiency: using the optimal frequency and winding connection scheme minimizes losses and ensures deep field penetration into the melt.
- Reliability and stability: the design provides for symmetrical phase loading (unbalance <3%), ensuring long-term stable operation in foundry conditions. Constructed from corrosion-resistant materials with multi-layer insulation.
- Protection against defects: takes into account the the initial hard crust formation and includes a solution (controlled irrigation) to prevent its destruction and oxides mixing.
The equipment has undergone a full R&D cycle, been tested on a physical model, and is intended for pilot industrial implementation.
